According to Football League World, reported Leeds United and West Ham United target Louie Sibley is likely to leave Derby County this coming summer.
The Derby talent burst onto the scene last season under the guidance of Phillip Cocu.
In the final nine games of last season, Sibley posted five goals and two assists including a 25-yard strike on his full debut and a hat-trick in the 3-2 win at Millwall.
His emergence in the Derby first-team attracted plenty of interest, while former manager Phillip Cocu labelled the attacking midfielder a special and unique talent.
Leeds United chief Victor Ortiz told the Yorkshire Post how the Whites were interested in signing Derby’s Sibley following their promotion to the Premier League.
According to ExWHUemployee cited by our sister site Hammers News, West Ham are also interested in Sibley alongside fellow young stars Jason Knight and Lee Buchanan.
Sibley, however, has struggled to replicate his bright start this season.
The 19-year-old has made on six Championship starts, with another 14 appearances coming off the bench as he now regularly misses out under new boss Wayne Rooney.
Football League World claim it is likely Derby will sell Sibley this summer, owing to the club’s financial position while the well-documented prospective takeover still lingers on.
Leeds and West Ham may feel they can strike a potential bargain.
Derby haven’t been shy in selling off their young talent, with Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe joining Sheffield United last summer and Kaide Gordon making the move to Liverpool.
Rams supporters certainly wouldn’t want Sibley to exit Pride Park, but Rooney seemingly doesn’t fancy him and may feel a sale could help strengthen the squad elsewhere.
