Derby County winger Kamil Jozwiak clocked a higher top speed than France superstar Kylian Mbappe during Poland’s opening Euro2020 encounter, UEFA’s site explains.

Jozwiak joined Derby from Lech Poznan in the summer of 2020.

The talented winger struggled to make an impact at Pride Park last season as Derby narrowly avoided the drop to League One after a disastrous late season form.

But on the international stage, Jozwiak has been impressive.

The winger featured for Poland during the international break in March. His performances prompted high praise from the Polish media, calling Jozwiak a treasure.

Jowiak’s reward was to start Poland’s opening Euro2020 encounter with Slovakia.

Poland ultimately lost 2-1. Jozwiak, however, was one of his side’s better performers and he posted more successful take-ons than all his teammates combined.

Moreover, Jozwiak was Poland’s quickest player, clocking a top speed sprint of 31.5km/h which was even faster than Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

PSG rate Mbappe at £200 million amid Real Madrid interest.

It’s an area of his game Derby have rarely got to witness.

Jozwiak has shown he has excellent close control, low gravity and dribbling ability at Pride Park. But he is also notably very quick when given the space to exploit.

Derby have a potential gem on their hands. However, they need to bring in the necessary quality to support Jozwiak and with limited finances that’s easier said than done.
