Derby County earned a 1-0 win at Port Vale in League One last night, owing to a comeback goal for Tyreece John-Jules.
The man on loan from Arsenal has only recently returned from a thigh injury which kept him sidelined for several weeks.
But with his first touch of last night’s game, and his first touch back in action, the 22-year-old put Derby County ahead and on their way to a fourth-straight win.
Paul Warne‘s side currently sit in 6th place of the League One table and have a two-point lead over Barnsley in 7th.
And whilst all the talk will be about John-Jules, a certain Eiran Cashin put in another dominant defensive display for Derby County last night.
What the stats say about Eiran Cashin
Cashin, who earns £3.3k-a-week at Derby County, won 78% of his duels in the game v Port Vale last night, as per Sofascore.
The centre-back also lead the stats for clearances (5) and blocks (2), whilst being the joint-leader for interceptions (2) and touches (65), making for yet another dominant display from the Irishman.
And reporter Leigh Curtis was full of praise for the 22-year-old, giving him an 8.5/10 raring on the night and adding:
“Excellent on the night and was Derby’s best player. Barely put a foot wrong and made a couple of timely blocks and handled Ikpeazu well.”

Securing his future at Derby County
Cashin is certainly a prospect.
He’s had links to the Championship and Premier League in the past and with his contract out at the end of next season, Derby County will surely be fearful of losing him.
Thankfully, the club has a one-year option on his deal, and it’s also been reported recently that the Rams are set to offer him fresh terms.
But Cashin is showing quality well above a League One level.
He’s bound to attract proper interest in January or next summer and if the club can’t get a new deal sorted, they might have to sell.
It’d be a shame to sell him. And it would surely take a huge offer, and promotion, to get him to consider extending his stay, as there’ll be plenty of teams out there who’d love to have him in their team.
Derby County don’t have a league game now until December 9th when they head to Leyton Orient, with an EFL Trophy game v Fleetwood Town the next thing on their agenda.
