Derby County are back in Championship action on October 19th, with a visit to Millwall.

Paul Warne will take his Rams side to The Den for a meeting with Millwall this coming Saturday, kicking off at 3pm BST.

Going into the weekend’s action, Derby County sit 12th in the Championship table while Millwall are down in 18th place.

The Lions had a positive start to the 2024/25 season but after losing summer addition Josh Coburn to injury, their form has fallen away somewhat.

Millwall have won just one of their last five Championship fixtures but still have a positive goal difference as they have been able to net 12 in nine.

Both of Millwall’s victories this term have come on home soil as well, with the London outfit scoring eight and assisting five in four fixtures.

Derby, meanwhile, are still yet to win a game away from Pride Park following their promotion back to the Championship.

Early Derby County team and injury news vs Millwall

The Rams have had some mixed injury news as they gear up for their return to action next week.

It was confirmed recently that midfielder David Ozoh would return to the Derby squad during the international break after facing a spell on the sidelines.

However, Tawanda Chirewa suffered a ‘freak’ injury and could now be out of action for as long as eight weeks.

Chirewa will now, of course, miss out against Millwall and is likely to be joined on the sidelines by Ben Osborn and Jake Rooney, though there is a chance the former could return to fitness before the weekend’s meeting in London.

Early Derby County predicted XI to face Millwall

For the most part, Derby’s backline largely picks itself at this stage, especially after they kept another clean sheet at Pride Park last time out.

Curtis Nelson was praised by Warne after Derby beat Queens Park Rangers, with the manager calling the centre-back ‘unbelievable’.

And though Jerry Yates is struggling for Derby on the goal front, the club’s limited options likely mean he will keep his place in the attack alongside Kayden Jackson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

The real selection dilemma for Warne will come in midfield, however. With Ozoh and Osborn missing last weekend, Marcus Harness earned praise from Derby fans after stepping up and excelling against QPR.

However, with Ozoh now on his way back to fitness, Warne must decide if he will reward Harness for his excellent display or revert back to his favoured midfield trio of Ozoh, Ebou Adams and Kenzo Goudmijn.

Here’s how we think Derby could line up against Millwall next week.
