Former Derby County boss Gary Rowett has named his top three signings so far this season.
The Rams so far in the 2024/25 Championship campaign have been superb, and had without a doubt been one of the surprise packages up until this early stage of the season.
Derby County will be hoping to continue the brilliant form, which has certainly been on display in recent weeks at Pride Park, with Paul Warne’s side losing just one home game up until this point, and it would certainly be understandable to lay the reason for this at the feet of the several Rams signings.
Many of the new Derby County ranks have added so much to the side, especially in the centre-of-the-park, with four different arrivals, including star midfielder Kenzo Goudmijn, making a significant difference up until this point, both defensively and popping up with crucial goals, as the Dutchman did in the wins against Bristol City and Cardiff City in successive games.
The Dutch midfielder has rightly grabbed the attention of many, including former Derby County boss Gary Rowett, who has named his top three signings for the Rams in the summer period.

Gary Rowett names top three Derby County summer signings
There was always no doubt that Goudmijn has been more than worthy of praise at this moment, especially considering he was an unknown in the English game and had no EFL experience.
Rowett has certainly been impressed with the midfielder, alongside two others as he wrote, per Derbyshire Live: “In the little bits I have watched of them [Derby County], David Ozoh has been a standout player just because of the impact he’s had in front of that back four.
“It’s not just the obvious part of the athleticism and his ability to break the game up, but actually, his use of the ball has been really impressive.
“But aside from Ozoh, Kenzo Goudmijn is always improving, and he’s been excellent, too.
“I would also say someone like Kayden Jackson given his impact in the final third.
“Derby under Paul Warne will always be a team that, yes, they’ve got individuals, but there’s always that team spirit, that feeling of togetherness, and that’s shone for me in the bits that I’ve seen.
“They are very competitive and together, and even when they lose, they don’t lose by much.”
Derby County have also signed the likes of Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, Ben Osborn and Ebou Adams, and the fact that they have been left outside the top three just shows the strength of the Rams’ arrivals this summer.

The Rams were very close to a 10/10 summer transfer window
There was very much plenty of concern surrounding the looming summer transfer window after Derby County clinched promotion in the 2023/24 League One campaign, and that was put on due to the several expiring contracts, alongside the fact that the side was ageing.
Derby County since have come close to mastering the rebuild, and that comes down to the brilliant work by Warne in helping bring in the top galents, some of which were by no means obvious acquisitions, including Zetterstrom in-between the sticks, who has been a revelation following the start to the season that saw Josh Vickers start in goal.
There is so much for Derby County fans to be optimistic about with this current side and the signings made, and they have certainly displayed their brilliant talents up until this point, and there seems to be no signs of that slowing down.
