Derby County are preparing for their fourth match of the new season as they switch focus from league action to the cup – travelling to Barrow in the EFL Cup.

The Rams have undergone quite a mixed start to the 2024/25 season under Paul Warne.

The newly-promoted side were thumped 4-2 by Blackburn Rovers on their return to the Championship.

Another drubbing was expected the following game week but Derby County beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in one of the shock results of the season so far.

However, Warne’s men were quickly brought back down to earth on Saturday when they lost 2-1 to Watford.

The Derbyshire side must now put the weekend’s defeat behind them and focus on the League Cup, where they are into the second round after Warne watched Derby beat Chesterfield 2-1 earlier this month.

Barrow awaits in the second round, so with that said, here is everything you need to know about the game.
