Derby County have been dealt a major blow ahead of their meeting with Watford.
The Rams will go into the next round of Championship fixtures on a high after their most recent outing at Pride Park.
Paul Warne welcomed promotion contenders Middlesbrough to Derbyshire on August 17th, looking to bounce back from their opening-day defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
Boro were expected to dominate the clash and did so, ending the 90 minutes with 70 percent possession and 20 shots on goal.
However, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, capitalising on an error from Isaiah Jones, scored the only goal of the match as Derby beat Middlesbrough 1-0 to hand his side their first three points of the campaign.
Warne and co. will face another tough test this weekend, though, when they host a high-flying Watford.
The Hornets have won their opening two league matches of the season while also finding the net on an impressive six occasions.

Kane Wilson and Eiran Cashin injury update ahead of Watford vs Derby County
Ahead of taking on Watford, Derby have a couple of injury concerns to deal with.
The Rams will have been over the moon to pick up a shock victory over Boro last weekend but the result did not come without a cost.
Kane Wilson and Eiran Cashin were both injured against Middlesbrough, being forced off inside the first 45 minutes.
Cashin suffered a head injury while Wilson looked to be nursing a hamstring problem when he was forced off.
Now, BBC journalist Dominic Dietrich has provided a return timeframe for the duo, who are both expected to miss out on Saturday.
He wrote: “Eiran Cashin ruled out of next two matches due to concussion rules.
“Kane Wilson out with a hamstring and PW suggests it’s unlikely he’ll play before the next international break.”

Who will Paul Wanre replace Kane Wilson and Eiran Cashin with against Watford
After Wilson went off at the weekend, Warne turned to Ryan Nyambe to fill in at right-back.
Nyambe had an excellent 65 minutes against Middlesbrough and was able to limit the threat of Delano Burgzorg down Boro’s left.
The Dutchman had a few chances but was largely subdued thanks to Nymabe – form he will need to maintain against the Hornets on Saturday.
Cashin, meanwhile, was replaced by Sonny Bradley during the meeting with the Teessiders.
The 32-year-old has plenty of experience at Championship level, making over 100 appearances in the competition for various clubs.
Losing Cashin is of course a blow, but Warne should be able to rely on Bradley in Derby’s next two fixtures.
