Derby County have been told what the ‘only disappointment’ from their 1-0 win at Wigan Athletic was.
Derby County headed to Wigan Athletic on Boxing Day, and eventually left with all three points following an impressive 1-0 win.
The goal came courtesy of Curtis Nelson who, along with centre-back partner Eiran Cashin, was praised by boss Paul Warne after the game.
The Rams remain in 4th place of the League One table and just two points behind Bolton Wanderers in 3rd and Peterborough United in 2nd.
It was a big win and one that extends Derby’s positive run of form; the Rams have lost just one of their last 12 in all competitions now, and journalist Leigh Curtis was full of praise for the performance.

Derby County put in a perfect away performance yesterday to come away with all the points and a clean sheet too.
But it wasn’t easy; as per Sofascore, Derby had just 46% of possession despite the win, managing 12 shots compared to Wigan’s 10.
Although the home side didn’t manage to get a single shot on target, they made matters difficult for Derby, and threw everything at them towards the end of the game.

Rams in good form, but room for improvement
Derby’s USP right now is their impressive defensive record.
They’ve kept 10 clean sheets and have conceded the lowest amount of goals in League One so far this season (18).
But, like Curtis hints at, Derby need to start putting more chances away.
They had four shots on target yesterday and could’ve doubled or even triple their lead, and although they got the win, on another day they could’ve been punished for not taking their chances.
Expect Warne to target attacking signings next month with the likes of James Collins and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing currently carrying a lot of pressure on their shoulders.
Both players are playing a lot of football and an injury to either one of them would really give Warne a problem, so bringing in some attacking cover next month seems vital.
Up next for the Rams is another difficult away day to Oxford United on Friday night; the U’s are a place behind Derby in 5th and have lost just one of their last four under new boss Des Buckingham.
