Former Derby County star Shaun Barker has said that Derby are showing too much ‘inconsistency’ amid a poor run of form.
Derby have lost two of their last four games with disappointing away losses to Shrewsbury Town and Stevenage.
This has put Warne under pressure as Derby manager, but it has since come out that he will be backed by the board.
Derby then went and thrashed Northampton Town 4-0 on Tuesday night to east the pressure on Warne, courtesy of a brace from Max Bird and goals from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Conor Washington.
Barker on Derby’s inconsistency
Speaking to RamsTV following the win over Northampton, Barker has said that he does not believe Derby have ‘got the right mix’ in the squad.
“I think the last two games showed what we are capable of here, in terms of the home performances and also just how they want to play. It feels like we have not quite got the right mix.
“We have not quite worked out how we are going to play the way that Paul wants to play with these players and some of the players have shown an inconsistency which has naturally affected the team.”
Derby to start winning run?
Derby have been way too inconsistent of late, being shown by the two wins and two losses in their last four games.
The Rams have not been able to bring together a decent winning run at all so far this season, which has left them outside off the playoff positions.
Tuesday night’s win coupled with the news of Warne staying will hopefully boost the players and kickstart a decent winning streak to push themselves into the top six.
