Derby County manager Paul Warne has dropped a hint about his selection for the Rams upcoming away trip to Notts County.
The Rams will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions when they cross Brian Clough Way on Tuesday night To face League Two leaders Notts County in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Derby and Notts are in the same group as League One side Lincoln City, and Wolves’ U21s.
Derby beat Lincoln 2-0 at Pride Park in the first game in the group, whilst Notts lost To Wolves U21s 2-1 at Meadow Lane.
Paul Warne to go strong
With the international break coming up this weekend, it has caused Derby’ game against Charlton to be postponed this Saturday.
But Warne insists he will still be putting out a strong side to win the game, he told the club website.
“I will go as strong as I can because I want to win the game. We don’t play for 11 days after that so it’s a good opportunity to get game time in lads but I want to win. If the lads who play significantly impress then it gives them an opportunity to play in the next game.”
Paul Warne will have to make changes
Whilst Warne has said he will go as strong as he can, you would expect there to be changes. The Rams will at least be without Conor Washington and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who are both away with Northern Ireland and Guatemala respectively.
However, Warne will be hoping to not to have any more senior players injured, with the Papa John’s Trophy not a priority.
