Derby County manager Paul Warne has given an injury update after the Rams 2-1 win away at Notts County.
The squad are now off for the international break after their home match against the Charlton in October 14th was postponed due to international callups.
The likes of Joe Ward, Callum Elder and Arsenal loanee Tyreece John-Jules are all expected to return to training before the Rams next game against Shrewsbury Town on October 21st.
Paul Warne says striker injured
Warne did however tell of an injury to striker Martyn Waghorn, but it is not expected to be a long-term issue.
“Waggy sort of felt his hamstring,” Warne told the Derby Telegraph.
“He had a scan and has a low grade one B or something. He will probably be around 10 days and by the time we are back again he might have trained for two or three days. He might be available. Callum and Joe Ward will be close. Tyreece will have joined in so I think it’s only Thommo who won’t be available. I think everyone bar him will be in the reckoning to be involved for the first game back.”
Warne provides update on Liam Thompson
Wayne also provided an update on the injury of Liam Thompson, who has been out of action for over a month, after injuring his quad prior to the defeat at Bolton.
“He is closer but not as close as I would like him to be. I’d like him to be three minutes close but when I speak to the physios he says he is doing all right but that he is taking a bit longer than we hoped. But he will not be available for the next two to three weeks that is for sure.”
