Paul Warne has issued a two-year plan after Derby County’s positive start to the season.
Derby County have most certainly taken plenty by surprise so far this season, winning three of their opening six games of the Championship season.
Their form at home has been terrific, which has seen them win three successive games at Pride Park, all of which saw Derby County earn a clean sheet for their efforts.
The form away from home most certainly needs consideration, but as a whole it has been a widely positive start to the campaign, with Paul Warne’s signings quickly gelling and working brilliantly together.
In particular, Kenzo Goudmijn and David Ozoh have been standout performers in the centre-of-the-park, as has Rams shot-stopper Jacob Widell-Zetterstrom.
Derby County have most certainly built the foundations for a solid Championship outfit, and Warne has gone on to express his optimism for the side and future plans.

Paul Warne issues two-year Derby County plan
Following the bright start to the 2024/25 campaign, Warne has every reason to be optimistic about the rest of the 2024/25 Championship campaign and what the Rams will be able to build on for the following season.
He has even been discussing the plans for the next two years at the club, where he said, per BBC Sport Derby on X: “The next two years should look as good [as the previous two].
“I’d like to think that we’re building a team that will push us to a higher part of this league and whether that takes us 12, 24 or 36 months, we’ve got to try and make strides.”
Derby County currently sit in a promising 10th place in the league.

Paul Warne has built the foundations of a top Championship side
It was always going to be a difficult job for Warne to build on last season’s promotion after the departure of several key players, however he managed to recruit exceptionally well across the summer in the build up to the 2024/25 campaign.
He has managed to bring in plenty of young talents, who have thrived alongside the proven Premier League and Championship quality of the likes of Ben Osborn and Kayden Jackson, and there is no doubt that Warne has created a recipe for success with this perfect blend.
He has done very well in bringing in several players this summer, and with 95% of which already proving to have adapted to the Championship, there is no doubt that this can be built on for years to come and hopefully see Derby County return to the higher echelons of the second flight.
