Derby County came from behind to beat Chesterfield in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Paul Warne and his Derby County side were back in action on Tuesday night, and against familiar opponents.
Chesterfield beat Derby County 4-0 in pre-season, and the Spireites took the lead in the game at Pride Park on Tuesday night.
Armando Dobra handed Paul Cook’s side the lead. But the Rams equalised through a spectacular Liam Thompson goal before the break, with Kayden Jackson then scoring his first Derby goal midway through the second half.
It was a tough game for the Rams. Derby perhaps deserved the win in the end but it’s another game that’s thrown up a lot of question marks for Warne and indeed the fans.
A key talking point going into the game was young striker Dajaune Brown.
The Derby County academy man started up front, making just his sixth first-team appearance for the Rams after scoring five goals in 18 league games whilst on loan with Gateshead last time round.

Dajaune Brown starts for Derby County vs Chesterfield
Brown, 18, played 70 minutes of the game vs Chesterfield and has received mixed reviews from Derby County fans on social media.
The striker put himself about, and provided a net assist for Thompson’s goal.
But Brown should’ve been on the score-sheet himself, with one shot on target and two off target; two shots off target was the joint-most of any player on the pitch.
Brown though won four out of eight duels, also recording two defensive actions as he worked the front line for Warne.

Brown certainly looks like a player with potential.
He had a good loan spell last season and showed glimpses of a good young player in the game vs Chesterfield.
But it looks like Brown may be in need of regular game time in a league below the Championship; perhaps, ideally, League Two, so that Brown can test himself against teams of Chesterfield’s quality each week.
At best, he’d be an impact player at Derby County this season, especially with the likes of Jerry Yates still to become available.
But if Brown can go out on loan before the August 30th transfer deadline, score a few goals, and more importantly play a lot of football, he could return to Derby next season and be better-suited for the first-team.
