He has linked up with former Derby manager Garry Rowett at the Den. And, with his Rams contract expiring, has hinted at possibly making the move permanent.

Bennett made his debut as a substitute in Millwall’s 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic.

He impressed, prompting praise from several Millwall supporters on Twitter.

Bennett returns after a lengthy spell out with injury.

The 23-year-old last featured for Derby in the 1-0 win over Preston North End back in November. He picked up an injury, ruling him out for up to three months.

Bennett struggled with fitness throughout his Derby career. In over 80 appearances, he managed to complete the 90 minutes on just two occasions.

The forward arguably needs a fresh start away from Pride Park. Millwall is a good opportunity, and he appears to have made an instant impact with the Lions.
