However, the Owls’ willingness to let the left-back go may have changed after his starring display in midweek.
Danny Rohl’s side beat Hull City in the first round of the League Cup on Wednesday, with The Star journalist Alex Miller praising the defender for his performance against the Tigers.
He wrote: “Had plenty of the ball, particularly in the first half, and put in some excellent crosses from the left.
“Played very much like a senior man. Other clubs are interested and if the Owls are weighing up letting him go, this will have been food for thought.”

Callum Elder started the current campaign as Warne’s first-choice left-back and was ok against Blalcburn despite the heavy defeat.
Behind Elder, however, another Rams star is waiting in the wings to seize his opportunity.
Craig Forsyth impressed for Derby against Chesterfield on Tuesday, giving Warne a potential selection headache going into the weekend clash vs Middlesbrough.
Forsyth was defensively solid throughout, ensuring that no issues were created down his side of the backline.
The 35-year-old has been pushed out of the first-team picture somewhat in recent seasons but showcased in midweek why he still has a big role to play at Derby.
Forsyth is unlikely to be able to play a full 46-game season at his age but remains a solid option and a potential alternative to Johnson.
