According to a report by Fotospor, Derby County are looking to sign midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu as they look to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
Kadioglu is currently at Fenerbahçe on a contract until 2022.
The young and talented Dutch midfielder was incidentally signed by current Derby manager Phillip Cocu during his short reign in charge of Fenerbahçe last season.
Kadioglu was extremely highly-rated. He starred at NEC, with many media outlets dubbing him a wonderkid before he opted to move to the Turkish club in 2018.

His time at Fenerbahce, however, has been a struggle. Phillip Cocu’s sacking saw first-team opportunities denied, and he only made his debut for the club in recent weeks.

Many expected Kadioglu to return to Holland last summer. A report by Turksvoetbal claimed Ajax were keen to sign him in a potentially bargain £750,000 deal.
Last season’s Champions League semi-finalists were said to be close to signing him. However, a move then failed to materialise while January now offers another opportunity.
Derby County need some injection of quality:
Derby are desperately short of creativity. The Rams have scored just 20 Championship goals in 20 games this season, leaving them struggling in lower midtable.
Derby’s recent 1-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers was their fifth away defeat on the road in succession. In that time, they have failed to score a single goal.
Phillip Cocu will be looking to strengthen his side in January. The arrival of Wayne Rooney should help, but the Rams are still short on quality and Kadoglu could provide an answer.

The 20-year-old Dutch U21 international is predominantly an attack-minded midfielder. He can play either as a number 10, or in a linking role as part of a midfield three.
