Krystian Bielik told the Totally Football Show how he deserved a chance to play in Arsenal’s first team and admits surprise at the club selling him to Derby County.
Bielik moved to Derby in the summer for a projected £10 million fee.
The Poland international spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic. There, he helped the Addicks to promotion to the Championship via the League One playoffs.

Bielik was hoping his success last term would open the door to a place in Arsenal’s first team this season. Unai Emery, however, seemingly had other ideas.
I was surprised that I didn’t really get a chance. You know, I thought I deserved to get a chance in the first team at Arsenal. I just felt that there was no future for me at Arsenal anymore. There is a new manager who’s thinking different than Arsene Wenger [who brought Bielik to Arsenal]. It’s how it is. It’s football, a new manager comes to the club, he brings his coaching staff, he’s got different thinking about football and that’s it, you know?

Krystian Bielik has now established himself in Derby County’s first team XI.
The 21-year-old originally started out in defence. However, over the past month he has been pushed up into midfield where he looks a lot more commanding.
Bielik is a natural ball-winning holding midfielder. He averages 3.1 tackles per game – a figure which puts him in the Championship’s top ten for successful tackles.
Derby benefit from his presence in-front of the defence. Bielik is a key component with the Rams keen to break quickly after winning the ball in the middle third of the pitch.

At 21, the former Arsenal man has bags of potential. It’s likely he will become a Premier League regular one day, and the Gunners may regret allowing him to leave.
