According to a report by Football League World, Derby County are keen on signing Oumar Niasse who recently spoke of his interest in joining West Bromwich Albion.
The Senegal international is a free transfer after leaving Everton.
Niasse cost Everton some £16 million back in 2016, but he struggled to make an impact on Merseyside and later had spells at Hull City and Cardiff City on loan.
Now, the 30-year-old is a free transfer and seeking a new club this month.
Niasse told The Beautiful Podcast how he would jump at the chance to re-unite with Sam Allardyce at West Bromwich Albion, saying he’s ready to drive to Birmingham.

But with no deal with West Brom in sight, the latest reports claim Derby are keen on him with newly-appointed manager Wayne Rooney a former teammate of the striker.
Football League World claim the Rams were hopeful of a deal. However, the uncertainty of the prospective new takeover has momentarily proved to be a stumbling block.
Derby are still in the middle of a takeover involving Sheikh Khaled Zayed Bin Saquer Zayed Al Nayhan and the Derventio Holdings Limited which was first mooted in November.
The Rams seemingly won’t do any business this month until the takeover is done.
Niasse, meanwhile, could prove to be an astute signing if only in the short-term.
The Rams are currently one place above the relegation zone and the lowest scorers in the Championship this season, finding the net 15 times in 24 games.
Derby are desperate to add another striker to provide an alternative for Colin Kazim-Richards who at 34 may struggle to last the course of the season as a regular starter.
