Derby County were looking to bring in one more player on Deadline Day.
Paul Warne’s side has taken drastic shape over the last month or so, bringing in several players that have undoubtedly improved options for the Rams boss.
The midfield in particular has become a quintessential part of Warne’s side, with new arrivals Kenzo Goudmijn and David Ozoh in particular shining for Derby County so far this season, and the depth he has in the centre-of-the-park is incredible with the likes of former Premier League man Ben Osborn and Ebou Adams.
At striker, the depth is also brilliant for Warne’s side, with the signings of Jerry Yates and Kayden Jackson, whilst the likes of Conor Washington and James Collins act as back-ups
However, Warne was still adamant on bringing through extra players in this position, and it is something that he is willing to revisit in January.

Derby County set to revisit striker target after rejecting deadline day move
The Rams were looking to bring in an extra player to lead the line on the final day of the summer transfer window, however they were unsuccessful with their quest.
Per DerbyshireLive, a Championship striker became available, with their being ‘initial encouragement’ that a deal could be pursued, however the move was unable to come into fruition with the attacker wanting to fight for a place at his parent club.
Warne also ‘hinted’ that a return to the transfer in January was certainly not off the cards, and that the Rams boss would still be more than happy to bring the Championship striker in.

Paul Warne striker comments could be bad news for Derby County duo
When Warne is looking to bring in a striker, it certainly is not for depth at this moment, as four senior strikers is certainly enough for Derby County.
As a result, there is a likelihood that the player who Derby County may revisit would be to replace one of the current strikers in the side, and there is every chance that it could see either Collins or Washington move on.
The likelihood would be for 32-year-old Washington to leave the club, especially after he was not chosen in the recent Championship squad to face Bristol City as a result of their not being enough space for the Northern Irish international, however Collins’ place in the side will also be far from guaranteed.
Warne must, if an extra striker is brought in in January, look to be bold with his approach and move players on. One thing that Derby County don’t need at this moment is overcrowding within the squad as that could easily be the source for discontent in the squad.
