Derby County are now set to send one of their promising youngsters out on loan.
Derby County have developed some excellent young players through their academy over the years, with the likes of Eiran Cashin, Max Bird and Louie Sibley all currently impressing in the Championship.
Further names include Jason Knight, Morgan Whittaker and Max Lowe – so it comes as no surprise that The Rams continue to take good care of their younger players.
One academy product that is now set to get the opportunity at senior football is Dajaune Brown, who Derbyshire Live have reported is closing in on a loan move to Gateshead United.
The National League outfit are close to agreeing a deal for the attacker, with Gateshead sat just one point off the top seven.
Brown has come up through the ranks at Derby County and caught the eye after netting nine goals in nine appearances for the U21s last season.
He went onto make his senior debut in the Carabao Cup tie against Blackpool in August, before being handed his League One debut in the 4-0 win over Northampton Town two months later.
Derby made his second appearance of the campaign against Leyton Orient last month, while he has been named on the bench in the last two outings.

Brown’s progression has led to him needing more action than just the U21s, with Paul Warne already admitting that he Brown and Tony Weston had attracted interest this month.
He said: “For both of them I think a loan would be good.
“I know some clubs’ policy is to loan them out, let them go through the leagues and they come back to you game-ready through somebody else’s tutelage.
“I don’t mind that. We’ve had calls for Dajaune, and sometimes you get lazy calls about him just because he’s scoring goals for the under-21s and he’s 18. You’ll speak to someone and say have you seen him play? And they’ll say no, I just heard he’s doing well. I will not let him go to anybody who has not bothered to watch him.
“There are a couple of good non-league options for Daj and I think he will go. Somebody came in for Tony from the National League but he didn’t fancy that opportunity which is his right. He doesn’t have to.”
A ‘good move’ for Dajaune Brown
Derbyshire Live journalist Leigh Curtis has admitted that it could be a ‘good move’ for Dajaune Brown, who could be another of Derby County’s academy stars who could be prepared to really make their mark on the first team in years to come.
His move to Gateshead will also give him some important experience in the play-offs, with The Heed looking set for a promotion battle in the final months of the campaign.
It is a brilliant opportunity for the youngster, and a successful loan spell could really stand him in Paul Warne’s good books.
