According to the BBC, Motherwell are holding out for £3 million for Derby County target David Turnbull.
The report explains how Motherwell have just turned down bids from Barnsley and Celtic for the midfielder. One of those bids was reportedly around £2 million, but Well feel he is worth more than that.
Derby’s interest in the youngster was first highlighted by the Scottish Sun last month. It was claimed the Rams spent much of the campaign tracking Turnbull as he won the Scottish Young Player of the Year award.

Turnbull enjoyed a terrific campaign this past season in the Scottish Premiership. He netted 15 goals and grabbed six assists, prompting international recognition with Scotland U21.
Derby have already signed fellow Scot Graeme Shinnie from Aberdeen as his contract at the club expires this summer. Craig Bryson’s success at Pride Park shows there is plenty of talent north of the border.

As several players depart Pride Park following the expiration of their contracts, midfield is an area manager Frank Lampard must strengthen. Turnbull, 19, is arguably good enough for the step-up already.
Derby, however, seemingly won’t be able to prize him away from Fir Park on the cheap. It hasn’t been said what the Rams’ budget will be this summer, but the club must be wary of Financial Fair Play.
Turnbull has been described by Well assistant manager Keith Lasley as the best young Scot of his generation. If that proves to be correct, then Derby should consider making him a top priority this summer.
