According to Tubantia, three clubs are lining up a deal for out of favour Derby County defender Mike te Wierik in the January transfer window.
The former Groningen captain joined Derby on a free transfer in the summer.
Many supporters were excited by the prospect of Te Wierik. The 28-year-old arrived with a decent reputation with Groningen’s defence among the sternest in Holland last season.

But Te Wierik just hasn’t got going at Pride Park. The central defender has made just four Championship appearances with his last start coming in October.
Moreover, Phillip Cocu’s exit alongside his coaching staff ends the Dutch link.

Tubantia claim a return to Holland is likely with Groningen and Fortuna Sittard keen, while his agent welcomes a probable loan move with a view to a permanent deal.
“It would be great if he had a new club in January. That can be on a rental basis, but also fixed. We do not know yet. First we still have to get started with Derby.”
Interim Derby manager Wayne Rooney has switched back to a back four.
The move saw Mike te Wierik fall behind Matt Clarke, Andre Wisdom, Curtis Davies and Krystian Bielik as centre-back options while Craig Forsyth can also play there.
Derby, meanwhile, have improved greatly in defence over the past two weeks.

The Rams are six games unbeaten, having kept four straight clean sheets. Furthermore, they have only faced one shot on target in their last three games.
Moving Te Wierik out the club could create space on wages to strengthen in January. Jack Marriot could be another Derby look to move on depending on his injury.
