According to the Express, Chelsea are keen to sell reported Derby County and Leeds United target Baba Rahman in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Ghana international is out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Rahman joined Chelsea five years ago. However, he has spent the past few seasons out on loan, making just 15 Premier League appearances during his time with the Blues.

That said, he was highly rated by former boss Jose Mourinho.

“Baba is really good with the ball, he’s very fast. He’s a good player for sure and we trust him.”

According to Ghanasoccernet, Leeds made an approach for him in the summer.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa managed to bolster his squad at Elland Road, but he failed to get Rahman after reportedly contacting the player’s agent on deadline day.

Derby, meanwhile, also held talks to sign Rahman on loan (Northern Echo).

But ultimately a deal for the left-back never materialised. Now, heading into January, Chelsea are eager to offload him permanently while his contract expires in 2022.

Leeds started their Premier League campaign well, picking up ten points from their opening six games. However, four defeats in their last six games tell a different story.

Derby, on the other hand, are still awaiting the news of their prospective takeover.

The Rams could have funds to spend in January. However, a striker is a top priority while the injury to Curtis Davies may also force the club to bring in another central defender.

Moreover, the rise of Lee Buchanan suggests the left-back area is solid right now.
