According to Maxifoot, AS Monaco are actively seeking to sell reported Derby County target Samuel Grandsir as they look to cut down the playing squad.
The Rams are evidently on the lookout for a new wide player this summer.
Poland international Kamil Jozwiak has been doing the rounds in the media, with the latest reports suggesting a deal for the Lech Poznan man could be close.
But manager Phillip Cocu has said he is still looking for further attacking additions.
A recent report from Sky Sports Transfer Centre (08/09 at 18:39) claimed Monaco’s Samuel Grandsir had emerged as a transfer target for the Rams.
The 24-year-old has featured sporadically for the Principality club, spending last season on loan at fellow French side Brest where he scored three goals in 24 games.
Now, French editorial Maxifoot say Monaco are actively trying to sell him.
New Croatian manager Niko Kovac says he expects several departures. Monaco have some 40 first-team members on their books, with Kovac wanting to trim down to 25.
Grandsir is listed among those seemingly up for sale.
It remains to be seen how much Derby will have to spend this summer following the recent sales of fullbacks Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe to Sheffield United.
But the attacking area, in particular out wide, must be strengthened if the Rams harbour any hopes of challenging for promotion to the Premier League this season.
Grandsir has pace in abundance and is physically strong. He appears exactly what Derby need, and the opportunity may be there to pull off a bargain deal.
