According to L’equipe, a list of MLS clubs and two from China are rivalling Derby County for defender Adil Rami as the defender seeks a move from Fenerbahce.
The France international defender is looking to move on this month.
Capped 36 times by France, it is said Rami is searching for a move which will enable him to have a shot of reaching the European Championships next summer.
Derby County have been cited as a potential shock destination.
But, fresh reports from France claim the Rams have competition. FC Dallas, Chicago Fire and New York Red Bulls head a list of MLS sides considering a move.
Derby are on the lookout for a new central defender this month. The sacking of former captain Richard Keogh back in October has left a big void at Pride Park.
Andre Wisdom and Brighton loanee Matt Clarke started the recent defeat at Luton Town. Curtis Davies, 34, was previously a regular before suffering from fitness issues.
Manager Phillip Cocu has been dealt a difficult hand. Moreover, Derby hoped to get deals done early, but they now face the possibility of failing to get anybody in.
Rami appears to be a last-resort option, but the Rams reportedly face competition from teams with bigger resources making any surprise move to Pride Park unlikely.
