According to Ghana Sports Center, Derby County and Brentford are among several clubs keen on signing attacker Gideon Offei.

The UK-born youngster has been strongly linked with a summer move.

After impressing in Italy’s lower leagues, scoring 19 goals in two seasons as a midfielder, he now seems ready to move up the ladder to a more established club.

Ghana Sports Center claim Brentford and Derby lead interest from the Championship, while fellow European clubs and some from the MLS are also keen.

Offei started his career out as a central midfielder. However, he is also capable of playing out wide and as an attacking midfielder.

Brentford are said to be looking to sign him on a four-year deal.

Derby have lacked creativity and pace all season:

The Rams finished tenth in the Championship table following a strong second half of the season. However, defeats to the likes of Brentford, Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff City in the final five games of the season showed their limitations.

Tom Lawrence, Duane Holmes, Jason Knight and Martyn Waghorn have all featured in wide positions this past season, yet arguably none are naturals there.

With Florian Jozefzoon out of the picture, Derby must sign a proper pacey winger.

Offei is undoubtedly an unknown and a gamble. But having said that, if Brentford are keen, then he most likely has shown top potential during his short career to date.
