Derby County will be looking to continue their recent unbeaten run when they host Hull City this weekend.

The Rams were 2-0 victors over QPR at Pride Park before earning back-to-back 1-1 draws against Millwall and Oxford United.

Derby totalled their first points on their travels but Paul Warne will be pleased that his side has a home fixture, particularly against Hull City.

The last time they lost at home to the Tigers was in 2016, as Hull recorded a 3-0 victory in the Championship play-off semi-final, with Derby unable to overturn that deficit in the second leg.

This weekend, a tight contest is expected at Pride Park as both sides are only separated by one point and just three places in the table.

Derby County team news ahead of Hull City

Warne has most of his first-team squad to choose from on Saturday, although there are a couple of notable absentees, starting with David Ozoh.

The Crystal Palace loanee was close to returning from a hamstring injury and could have made the squad against Oxford, but Warne has confirmed a devastating blow to the 19-year-old.

Towards the end of his recovery, Ozoh injured his quad and will be out till after the international break, which is sad news for the club and player.

Attacking midfielder Marcus Harness is also a doubt after the midweek win over the U’s however, the Ipswich Town loan star should be okay to make the squad.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Ryan Nyambe, who is set for four to six months on the sidelines after injuring his knee in the draw at Millwall.

Derby County predicted XI vs Hull City

Jacob Widell Zetterstrom has been excellent since arriving at Derby, cementing his place as the club’s number one ahead of Josh Vickers, and making everyone quickly forget about Joe Wildsmith.

Zetterstrom is joined in defence by Kane Wilson, who should solidify his place at right-back after Nyambe’s injury, along with Eiran Cashin, Curtis Nelson and Callum Elder.

The midfield three, meanwhile, is where Warne could make a change to the starting XI that drew on Tuesday night, switching out the ‘terrific’ Ben Osborn for the more attacking Harness.

Harness can offer the quality that can help exploit Hull City’s ‘vulnerability’ alongside playmaker Kenzo Goudmijn and midfield destroyer Ebou Adams.

As for the forward line, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is nailed to start on the left after scoring in midweek and so is striker Jerry Yates.

However, Warne could swap out Corey Blackett-Taylor – who was largely ineffective last time out – replacing him with joint-top scorer Kayden Jackson.

Derby (4-3-3): Zetterstrom; Wilson, Cashin, Nelson, Elder; Adams, Goudmijn, Harness, Jackson, Mendez-Laing, Yates.
