Derby County and Plymouth Argyle clashed at Pride Park in a Championship fixture on Saturday, November 9th.

Derby County went into the game eyeing a spot in the top half of the Championship table.

The Rams beat Coventry City 2-1 in midweek and were favourites to secure a win against Plymouth Argyle due to their superb form at Pride Park.

Paul Warne was without a couple of key players for the clash as Eiran Cashin was suspended and Callum Elder was injured vs Coventry.

This saw the Derby manager forced to tweak his eleven slightly for the game with Nat Phillips coming in at centre-back and Craig Forsyth starting at left-back.

Derby got off to a bright start against their former manager, opening the scoring with eight minutes on the clock.

Despite their dominance early on, however, Plymouth pegged Derby back in the 41st minute via Adam Randell.

Ebou Adams shines for Derby County vs Plymouth Argyle

The talking point after the match will no doubt be the wonder goal Jerry Yates netted in the eighth minute to give Warne’s men the lead.

Derby fans were left in awe of Yates following his stunning overhead kick and rightly so.

The striker now has two goals in his last two games for the club and finally appears to be hitting a good run of form.

However, another of the Rams players deserves praise for his display against Plymouth on Saturday.

The man in question is midfielder Ebou Adams, who has quickly cemented himself as one of Derby’s most important players.

Adams received a 7.5 rating on Sofascore, which was only bettered by Yates. He also made one key pass, won 83 percent of his duels, made four tackles, completed all of his dribbles, had 59 touches and made one interception.

Eboud Adams nearing Derby County suspension

This is not the first time the 28-year-old has shone since his summer transfer to Pride Park.

Adams was excellent for Derby vs Coventry in midweek and put in a similarly impressive display against Plymouth at the weekend.

However, Warne and co. are likely going to have to make do without their star midfielder in one fixture before the end of the year.

That is because Adams is already on four bookings and will be suspended for one match if he picks up a fifth yellow before 2025.
