Derby County made twelve signings in the summer transfer window to boost their quest for promotion back to the Championship.

Paul Warne’s side missed out on the play-offs last season, but will be looking to do better this time around.

Here we rank each of the Rams’ twelve signings using WhoScored, based on how well they have done so far this season.

Derby summer signings ranked

Elliot Embleton – 6.15

Elliot Embleton joined on a season-long loan from Sunderland.

However, he only made one appearance off the bench before a knee injury ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Callum Elder – 6.15

Callum Elder joined on a free transfer from Championship side Hull City.

He has also had his time at Derby plagued with injury, after having keyhole surgery on a hernia, followed with an ankle injury. He has only made seven appearances, with only two of those being starts.

Tyreece John-Jules – 6.19

Tyreece John-Jules joined on loan from Arsenal until January.

He has also been injured, dealing with a thigh injury for the last two months. Has only made two substitute appearances.

Josh Vickers – 6.29

Josh Vickers joined Derby from Rotherham United, having previously worked under Warne there.

Primarily a backup goalkeeper, he has only made one substitute appearance.

Kane Wilson – 6.35

Kane Wilson signed for an undisclosed fee from Bristol City.

He has made 12 appearances, with three of those being starts. He has been credited as being ‘superb’ in some of his performances this season.

Sonny Bradley – 6.36

Sonny Bradley joined Derby following his release from newly promoted Premier League side Luton Town.

He started off well but has slowly dropped off. Has made ten appearances with four of those being starts.

Conor Washington – 6.37

Conor Washington joined from Rotherham United for an undisclosed fee having previously worked with Warne there.

Has been a decent striking option for the Rams, scoring three times in 14 appearances.

Tyrese Fornah – 6.54

Tyrese Fornah made the move to Derby from fierce rivals Nottingham Forest.

He has made nine appearances so far this season, recently making his debut for Sierra Leone internationally.

Joe Ward – 6.67

Joe Ward arrived from last season’s play-off semi-finalists Peterborough United, signing a three-year-deal.

Also having troubles with injury, he has only made five appearances so far, starting three of those.

Martyn Waghorn – 6.91

Martyn Waghorn rejoined Derby following his release from Coventry City.

Having previously spent time at the club, Waghornms return was well-received amongst the fanbase. He has scored six goals in 12 appearances so far this season.

Ryan Nyambe – 7.03

Ryan Nyambe joined Derby in September after his release from Wigan Athletic in June.

He has made nine appearances since his arrival, nailing down the right back spot as his own.

Curtis Nelson – 7.06

Curtis Nelson joined from Blackpool after his release at the end of last season, and has been a solid addition at the back.

He has started every game for the Rams this season, forming a decent partnership with Eiran Cashin.
