Kane Wilson has shared his delight for two of his Derby County teammates, who’ve had particular struggles in the Championship so far this season.
Kane Wilson now looks set to play an important role for Paul Warne and Derby County over the coming months, following the injury to fellow right-back Ryan Nyambe.
Wilson is hoping to step up for Derby County and help to maintain his side’s solid start to this 2024/25 season.
The Rams currently sit in 13th place of the Championship table, after many had backed them to really struggle in these opening rounds of the new campaign.
Since the return of football following the October international break, Derby County have drawn with Millwall at The Den, then drawing away at Oxford United in midweek.
It’s two solid points on the road for the Rams who return to action against Hull City on Saturday afternoon.
And Warne will be hoping that recent scorers Jerry Yates and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing now have some newfound confidence.

Kane Wilson buzzing for Jerry Yates and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing at Derby County
Both Yates and Mendez-Laing are two real goal threats in this Derby County first-team squad.
But neither player had scored in the league going into this month’s international break.
Yates got his first goal for Derby County in the game at Millwall before fan favourite Mendez-Laing got his first of the season at Oxford.
Speaking to the club ahead of the game against Hull, Wilson shared his delight for the duo, saying: “Everyone knows how good Nat is, so to get his first goal of the season was important for him, even though he’s been contributing with assists.
“Before the Millwall game, the gaffer showed us a video of just how good we’ve been so far this season as a confidence boost.
“Obviously all the goals were on the video and Jerry and Nat were sat there joking and saying: ‘You haven’t shown our goals!’ We were bantering about it because after that, they’ve both scored!”

Paul Warne delighted for Jerry Yates after first Derby County goal
Yates arrived at Pride Park as a very exciting loan signing from Swansea City, bringing with him a proven track record of goals in the Football League.
He’s played a key role despite not scoring. But now that he’s off the mark, it seems to have given everyone at the club a boost.
Warne said after Yates’ first Derby County goal: “What makes it for me is the lads’ reaction.
“Behind me on the bench, they were all pleased for him because they know how hard he works and how much he wanted the goal.”
Despite struggling somewhat with Swansea City last season, Yates boasts a record of 32 goals in 161 Championship appearances, with 87 goals in 319 career appearances.
Wilson and Warne’s delight for Yates speaks volumes about how highly-rated he is at the club.
