One major issue could spring up if Derby County don’t secure extra investment.
Derby County owner David Clowes is looking to bring in extra financial security for the club following their promotion from League One, with him looking to sell up to 80% of his current stake at the club.
It certainly is a sign of a club on the up, and that has most certainly been mirrored on the pitch as Derby County currently sit in 10th place in the Championship, where they have managed an impressive three successive home wins at Pride Park, with them conceding zero goals.
There have been problems for Paul Warne’s side on their travels after a successive three defeats on the road, however it has still without a doubt been a positive start to the campaign, and the wheels are fully in motion in the club as it continues its upwards trajectory.
Clowes most certainly is making a correct call for the sake of the club in regards to searching for extra investment, however he must follow through at this point, otherwise problems could arise.

David Clowes could be faced with problems if Derby County investors aren’t found
It is clear that Clowes has been an integral part of Derby County’s recent progress off the pitch, and his backing was vital for the Rams in returning to the Championship.
However, with the jump up in leagues, the costs involved in maintaining Derby County’s position in the table could easily skyrocket to the point where it is unsustainable and Clowes’ funds may not match the expectations set by the club and Warne in the coming seasons.
Warne has made it clear that he looks to build Derby County back up as a top Championship club in the coming seasons, and this will undoubtedly take financial firepower, which can be guaranteed if investors are sourced.

Whilst it is far from confirmed that Derby County and Warne will be able to build on the brilliant start to the season, Clowes must be prepared that if they do so, the ambitions of the club must be met financially.
There have been many times in recent years in the Championship of clubs not being able to meet financial demands, despite still pushing for a move to the top of the league, and it can easily undo years of progress.
Whilst during League One and in the early stages of the Championship, Clowes has been integral in the progress, and it is great for the club that he has recognised that extra investment at this point is needed.
