Derby County’s top three performers, according to the stats, are quite the surprise.
Derby County are enjoying what has been a decent start to the 2024/25 Championship campaign, with Paul Warne’s side currently sitting 10th in the league table after four games.
They have gone into the first international break of the season with a 100% record at Pride Park, and have been tough opposition, with both Middlesbrough and Bristol City struggling to come away from Derbyshire with anything.
Whilst there are still some prevalent issues on their travels, Warne will be more than content with the start to the campaign from his side, especially with his new signings performing incredibly well.
The likes of Kenzo Goudmijn and David Ozoh have been excellent at the start of their time at Pride Park, as have fellow midfielders Ebou Adams and Ben Osborn.
After what has been a solid start from Derby County, their top three players have been rated, per SofaScore, and it is quite a shock.

Josh Vickers
The Derby County shot-stopper surprisingly comes out on top as the Rams’ best performer so far this season.
Josh Vickers has been handed an average rating of 7.40, with this stat particularly being bumped up from his brilliant performance at home to Middlesbrough, where he kept the Rams’ first clean sheet of the season, despite an onslaught of chances from the opposition side.
Derby County have since dropped the goalkeeper, who was replaced by Swedish new signing Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, who also has performed well since his arrival from Djurgardens.

Kayden Jackson
Second on this list is, less surprisingly, Kayden Jackson, who has already got two goals to his name at Derby County, and as a result has a current average rating of 7.28.
The striker, who has also been utilised at right-wing, has certainly been a worthwhile signing for Warne at this stage, with the former Ipswich Town attacker also notching an assist from out wide, and tallying a respectable 70% passing success rate, particularly with him often looking to play it direct and get the ball forward.

Curtis Nelson
Third on the list is Derby County’s dependable man at the back, Curtis Nelson, who has been given a current average rating of 7.18 at this stage of the season.
On the defensive front, Nelson played a brilliant performance against Bristol City in Derby County’s 3-0 victory, and he has also come up with a goal this season as well.
He has also been crucial in playing the ball out from the back, completing 29.5 successful passes per game for the Rams.
Nelson’s inclusion means that surprisingly both Ozoh and Goudmijn miss out as one of Derby County’s best performers this season according to the stats.
