Derby County face competition in pursuit for Watford striker Mileta Rajovic

The Rams have reportedly identified another striker in Watford attacker Mileta Rajovic, per Pete O’Rourke on X.

The 25-year-old striker is looking increasingly likely to move on from Watford, with Derby County reportedly facing competition from fellow Championship side Millwall.

Rajovic has featured in all three Championship games for Watford, scoring one goal, however has not started any of the fixtures.

The striker scored on 10 occasions for Watford in 41 Championship appearances last season, 24 of which saw the Danish striker utilised from off the bench.

Should Derby County be prioritising striker signings

At this stage a striker signing, whilst could prove to be important for Warne’s side, should not be of the utmost importance for Derby County at such a late stage in the summer transfer window.

The Rams’ wide options are quite simply insufficient at this point, and it is likely that very little progress will be made.

If Derby County were able to swiftly move on to a wide player following any sort of conclusion in a deal for Rajovic, then they will have proven that they have dealt very well with transfer in the dying hours of the window, however at this moment the likelihood of a wide signing appears to be unlikely.
