Derby County have gotten a deadline day signing over the line.
Derby County were in the market for new faces when deadline day rolled around.
It comes despite a busy summer for Paul Warne in the transfer market with 10 new players having arrived at Pride Park before deadline day.
And amid links to a handful of centre-backs including Liam Cooper and Ben Nelson, it was Liverpool’s Nat Phillips who’s joined on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The 27-year-old returns to the Championship after spending time with Cardiff City in the second tier last time round.

Nat Phillips on Paul Warne influence in Derby County loan move
Speaking to the club after completing his deadline day loan move to the club, Phillips spoke of how Derby County boss Warne influenced the move.
Phillips said of his chat with Warne before joining on loan: “It was an interesting one.
“I would say that was quite a big part of why I wanted to come here.
“Had a really good conversation about how he manages and how he wants his team to play, but I got a really good feeling from the manager and that helped my decision for me.”

Nat Phillips can be a huge signing for Derby County
Now with Phillips in the ranks, Warne not only has added depth at centre-back, which was needed, but added quality.
Including Sonny Bradley, Eiran Cashin, Curtis Nelson, and now Phillips, Warne now has four centre-backs who are capable of starting a game at Championship level.
Not only does the arrival of Phillips add depth, it also gives Warne a bit of freedom in the shape, with the Rams now able to comfortably play a back-four or back-five.
Derby County return to Championship action at home to Bristol City on Saturday.
