Derby County could now bolster their defence with a new addition after completing the signing of Ebou Adams.
Ahead of their return to the Championship, Paul Warne has poured most of his focus into improving his midfield and attack at Derby County.
The Rams have acquired midfielders Ben Osborn and Kenzo Goudmijn while luring strikers Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates to Pride Park.
Warne isn’t done there with making improvements to his engine room and attack as a transfer for Ebou Adams from Cardiff City is said to be imminent, with the 28-year-old on the verge of signing a three-year deal.
A move for Adams permanently has been in the pipeline since the end of the last season and it now appears both clubs have agreed on a £900,000 fee for the Gambian, who won’t be the only player heading to Derbyshire.

Derby have signed four new players this summer but if Warne’s comments end up true, the Rams boss wants eight more through the door before deadline day.
According to Indonesian outlet Sepakbola, Warne is now turning his attention to bolstering in defence by attempting to sign Elkan Baggott on loan from Premier League new boys, Ipswich Town.
The report claims the towering centre-back needs to head out on loan as opportunities at the Tractor Boys will be at a premium, especially following the £15 million arrival of Jacob Greaves.
Derby are said to be showing interest in the 21-year-old alongside League One side Wycombe Wanderers as they look to add depth to their backline.
Warne currently has three options to choose from, including Eiran Cashin, Curtis Nelson and Sonny Bradley, so adding a fourth centre-back could be essential heading into the Championship.
Nelson and Cashin formed a telepathic partnership last term as Derby finished with the best defence in the league, conceding just 37 times, while Baggott could offer strong competition.

Who is Derby target Elkan Baggott
A product of the Ipswich academy, Baggott has made just seven senior appearances for the club since arriving on a two-year scholarship in 2019.
Only two of those matches came in League One, while the rest came in the EFL Trophy and the Carabao Cup.
Baggott has instead played the bulk of his football out on loan, spending time at Kings Lynn Town in 2020/21 before stepping up to League Two with Gillingham and League One with Cheltenham Town and Bristol Rovers.
The 2003-born defender’s most recent spell came at Bristol Rovers, where he made 14 appearances in the third tier and was labelled as ‘outstanding’ by manager Matt Taylor for turning his career around at the Gas around following a slow start.
Standing at 6 foot 5, the defensive titan is an imposing figure at the back and is excellent at winning aerial duels and stamping his authority onto proceedings.
Although he’s never featured in the Championship, Baggott did make history by becoming the first Indonesian to play in the EFL, when he appeared for Ipswich against Rotherham in 2022.
Baggott would be a low-risk signing if acquired on loan from Ipswich but as he’s never played in the second tier, he would need to bide his time for opportunities ahead of Cashin or Nelson.
