Derby County are still looking at adding extra firepower to their ranks before the deadline.

Derby County look to be going to the wire in the summer transfer window with Paul Warne still making it abruptly clear that he is willing to add an extra attacker to his side for the 2024/25 Championship campaign.

The Rams already have acquired the notable signings of Jerry Yates and Kayden Jackson this season, however another arrival could still be in the works.

Watford striker Mileta Rajovic looks like an option for Derby County in the dying minutes of the transfer window, with Millwall providing competition in signing the striker.

Ipswich Town striker Ali Al-Hamadi has also been mentioned as a possible option for the Rams, and Derby County’s stance on the striker has now been revealed.

With Derby County looking to sign a striker late on in the window, Al-Hamadi has been mentioned as an option for the Rams after being linked previously this summer.

However, it looks at this point that Al-Hamadi ‘won’t be going to Derby County at this stage’, per Dominic Dietrich on X.

The Rams-linked striker currently plays for Ipswich Town and was touted as an option for the Rams on Deadline Day as a result of the Premier League side also looking to bolster their attacking options.

Ali Al-Hamadi news is big blow for Paul Warne

There is no doubt that Al-Hamadi is a brilliant prospect in English football, as he was able to clearly show during his time at AFC Wimbledon.

Whilst he has been given very little game time during his spell at Ipswich Town, there was every chance that Al-Hamadi would still be able to perform at Championship level for Derby County.

The Rams will be kick themselves that a player of Al-Hamadi’s calibre was available this summer and wasn’t signed, but the silver lining is that Derby County have undoubtedly brought in sufficient numbers of strikers.
