Derby County have now revealed their latest stance on the future of star players, Max Bird and Eiran Cashin.

In the case of Derby County, their most saleable assets are Max Bird and Eiran Cashin. The pair have attracted interest from higher up the pyramid throughout this window and previously.
Republic of Ireland defender Cashin came extremely close to making a big-money move to Premier League side Brighton last summer while Bird was wanted by Hull City manager Liam Rosenior.

According to Leigh Curtis of the Derby Telegraph, it has now emerged that both players will not be sold during this window.
This has remained the stance throughout January and the club are sticking to its guns instead of cashing in on its assets.
In their current financial predicament, it would have been tempting to take a large fee for either Cashin or Bird, but the board have done the right thing by rejecting other clubs’ advances.
It’s been a nervy month for Rams supporters, who would have expected at least one of their players to depart, but the fact they are both staying is a huge boost to their promotion chances.
A huge boost for Derby
During this window, it was important the club strengthened and didn’t let any of their star players depart.
The arrivals of Ebou Adams and Corey Blackett-Taylor are two shrewd pieces of business that will aid their automatic promotion charge, as will Bird and Cashin remaining at Pride Park.
Cashin, in particular, has been a monster at the heart of Derby’s defence, forming a colossal partnership with Curtis Nelson.
It’s a pairing that has helped the Rams keep 10 clean sheets in 28 matches this term, as per Sofascore, and breaking that up could have been damaging to their promotion chances.
As for Bird, he’s been an integral midfield force alongside Conor Hourihane and while his form has dropped off in recent weeks, the arrival of Adams can help solidify them centrally and in turn, get the best out of Bird going forward.
