Derby County look as though they could do some more transfer business in the final days of the summer transfer window.
The summer transfer window slams shut on August 30th, and for Derby County, it’ll close what’s been a fairly mixed summer window.
There’s been some impressive captures with Derby County fans wowed by Kenzo Goudmijn early doors, and excited by the signing of Jacob Widell Zetterstrom too.
But there’s a lingering sense that Paul Warne could do with a lot more Championship quality and expertise in his ranks, and perhaps some attacking prowess too.
The Derby County rumour mill has been quite quiet in the last week or so, since the Rams got the long-awaited deal for Zetterstrom over the line.
One player has been linked with a move to Pride Park though; Marvin Johnson.
The 33-year-old Sheffield Wednesday left wing-back impressed last time round and it’s recently been reported that Derby County are interested in Johnson, along with Oxford United.
Now though, his future at Hillsborough has become clearer.

Sheffield Wednesday could also be busy in the final week of the summer transfer window, having signed 10 new players this summer.
The Owls may also look at one or two player sales in order to balance the books somewhat.
But The Star report that, as thing stand, a potential transfer exit for Johnson is ‘increasingly unlikely’.
Johnson is rumoured to be out of contract next summer, but is only one of two left-sided defenders at the club right now.
The position that Derby County really need to bolster
Extra depth at the left-back position would’ve been nice for Warne, but it never seemed that necessary.
The defence as a whole seems quite well-stocked with the possible exception of right-back following the injury to Kane Wilson.
For Derby, it looks like they’re lacking that extra bit of star quality on the wings or in attack in general.
Another Nathaniel Mendez-Laing kind of player would be very useful for Warne.
An injury to Mendez-Laing or Kayden Jackson for example would leave Derby County lacking in attack, and so expect the Rams to target someone for the attacking department in the final week of the window.
A move for Johnson never seemed so necessary for the Rams, and now it doesn’t seem that likely either.
