Derby County are set to target another signing following the likely arrival of Ebou Adams from Cardiff City.
Derby County have been very busy in the last few weeks in the summer transfer window.
Arrivals are coming in fast, with new signing Ben Osborn stealing the headlines, having three promotions and two Premier League seasons under his belt.
The surprise arrival of Dutch midfielder Kenzo Goudmijn will also offer more cover in the centre-of-the park following the release of Conor Hourihane and Korey Smith after the 2023/24 League One season.
Cardiff City and Gambian international Ebou Adams is also missing from last season’s midfield after returning to his parent club, however a deal is in place to hopefully bring the defensive-midfielder back to Pride Park in a £900,000 deal.
The work is not done there, with Derby County set to go in for another target in the position that Paul Warne prioritises.

Derby County set their sights on another midfielder this summer
Warne is reportedly looking at bringing another midfielder to Derby County this summer, per Darren Witcoop on X.
Derby County have already brought in midfield reinforcements in Goudmijn, Osborn and imminently Adams, however Warne isn’t entirely satisfied with the depth in the position quite yet.
Witcoop also suggested that ‘a few offers’ have been made for a player in that position, one of which is a ‘loan’.
Reinforcements will also be needed to replace Louie Sibley, who has since signed for Championship rivals Oxford United after providing a significant part in the Rams’ automatic promotion from League One.

Should Paul Warne still be prioritising midfield signings
Prior to the start of the transfer window, it was clear that both midfielders and attackers had to be prioritised for Derby County, with both positions on the lighter side.
Warne has since brought in two midfielders, with a further two expected if Adams and the mystery player manage to sign at Pride Park.
However, options up top are still on the lighter side, despite the loan arrival of Jerry Yates from Swansea City, as well as Kayden Jackson from Ipswich Town.
Warne also has Conor Washington and James Collins at his disposal to play up top, however neither have a guarantee of goals at this level and are more suited to the lower tiers, especially at the age of 32 and 33 respectively.
Derby County won’t have to break the bank, but they still should be prioritising at least one more striker prior to the 2024/25 Championship campaign that can make a significant difference in terms of goals.
