Derby County boss Paul Warne will be naming a side that will have to cope without Jerry Yates at striker.

The Rams are set to face off against Swansea City, where they hope that they can capitalise on a side in poor form.

Swansea currently have managed to notch just two wins in their previous 10 games, with the most recent loss coming against Leeds United, whose boss Daniel Farke has outlined what Derby County need to do in order to beat the Welsh side.

There will be plenty of discussion on how Paul Warne will set his side up, especially with the absence of Jerry Yates, and it is something that could lead to some big calls being made by Warne, including out-of-form man Kayden Jackson, who has been played on the right-flank for the large majority of the 2024/25 season, somewhere that he is less familiar with.

Here are the absentees that Warne will have to take into consideration coming up against Swansea City…

Derby County absentees ahead of Swansea City clash

Derby County have a number of injury concerns going into the upcoming clash with Swansea City.

Starting off, Callum Elder’s injury against Coventry City will likely keep him out of action once again, whilst on the right flank, Warne will once again be without Ryan Nyambe, who suffered a knee injury against Millwall previously.

David Ozoh is edging closer to a return to action, however he looks set to be missing yet again.

Aside from injuries, Yates will be unavailable as well due to him not being able to come up against his parent club.

As a result of their list of absentees, here is how they could line up against Swansea…

Derby County predicted XI vs Swansea City

Jacob Widell-Zetterstrom will once again get the nod to start in-between the sticks for the Rams, whilst Warne is likely to go for a back-three once again, which will see Nat Phillips, Eiran Cashin and Curtis Nelson likely feature.

As for the wide men, Craig Forsyth will likely feature, as well as Kane Wilson, with the latter coming in from off-the-bench.

The central-midfield will remain unchanged, whilst up top, Dajaune Brown will be rewarded with another start alongside Jackson, who deserves to be utilised as a striker, as opposed to his less-familiar wide role that Warne has often played him in.

Derby County (3-5-2): Zetterstrom; Phillips, Nelson, Cashin; Wilson, Forsyth, Adams, Thompson, Osborn; Brown, Jackson.
