Derby County look set to complete their first deadline day deal
Derby County went into this summer’s transfer deadline day with a plan.
It was revealed that Paul Warne had three targets on his radar for the final 24 hours of the summer window.
Warne also has a free agent plan up his sleeve, in case he doesn’t get the deals he wants done.
So far this summer, the Rams have signed 10 new players, with Derby County signing Tawanda Chirewa on loan from Wolves earlier this week.
Now, the Rams are poised to complete another Premier League loan deal.

Derby County set to sign Nat Phillips on loan from Liverpool
A centre-back has seemingly been on Warne’s wanted list going into deadline day, with options in that position quite low as things stand.
And journalist Paul Joyce has now revealed that Derby County are set to sign Liverpool’s Nat Phillips on loan.
Phillips, 27, is a product of the Reds’ youth academy, but has just 19 Premier League appearances to his name having spent a lot of his career out on loan.
Phillips spent time with Cardiff City in the second half of last season, featuring 18 times in the Championship.
Derby County are linked with Leicester City centre-back Ben Nelson as well on deadline day.
Nat Phillips and Derby County could be a great fit
Derby County are certainly in need of some depth and quality, and Phillips arriving at Pride Park gives Warne just that.
Although he’s not racked up a whole lot of games for a 27-year-old, 120 in his career, the fact that Liverpool continue to keep him around suggests that he’s held in good regards at Anfield.
He’s played in the Championship before and so he knows how demanding the league is, and Phillips will surely be eager to impress in what is likely a season-long loan.
For Warne and Derby County, this looks like a very decent signing.
