Derby County striker Jerry Yates has praised Paul Warne and his approach in training.
The Rams have enjoyed a surprisingly positive start to the 2024/25 Championship season, with Paul Warne’s side currently sitting 10th in the table after two wins in their first four.
Pride Park has become quite the fortress so far this season, with Derby County seeing off both Middlesbrough and Bristol City whilst not conceding a single goal.
This is without key signings as well, as Rams defender Nat Phillips is set to enter the side straight away for Derby County’s next fixture at home to Cardiff City, with Warne looking to change the formation in order to fit in the Liverpool loanee.
One other signing that has been handed very little action up to this point is Jerry Yates, who had to endure a three-match suspension that he picked up with Swansea City last season.
Despite having a staggered start to his Derby County career, the striker has still been put through the paces by Warne.

Jerry Yates praises Paul Warne for Derby County training approach
Warne was able to drop Yates straight into the side against Bristol City once the attacker had endured his ban, and this was all down to the Derby County boss, who made sure that he was going to be fit and ready for action.
Speaking to Football League World, Yates said: “He [Warne] never seems to stop. I was saying to one of the lads the other day that during the first call I had with him in the off-season he asked me if I was still willing to run. That was literally the first question.
“And then he asked if I was ready for it. He always brings the best out of people, and he’s very honest, so there’s nothing more you can ask for.
“The gaffer won’t let me slack. Every time they had the game, I was doing extra running and stuff like that, so my fitness wasn’t going to go missing or anything like that.

Jerry Yates will compliment Kayden Jackson very well at striker
It seems that Warne is looking more likely to change his formation following the arrival of Phillips, and this means that he will look to play two strikers.
This will likely mean that Yates will lead the line alongside fellow Derby County signing Kayden Jackson, who has already endured a solid start to his time in Derbyshire.
The former Ipswich Town striker will certainly work very well alongside Yates for Warne’s side, as whilst the former Swansea City attacker offers strength and the ability to hold up the ball, Jackson will certainly be looking to develop the attack by offering a run and playing off the last defender’s shoulder.
