Derby County claimed an unexpected, but impressive 3-0 win vs Bristol City in the Championship on Saturday.
Derby County returned to Pride Park on Saturday afternoon, welcoming a Bristol City side who’d made an unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Championship season.
And it comes after a prolific deadline day for Paul Warne’s Rams who’d welcomed two new players in Nat Phillips and Marcus Harness, who both join on loan from Liverpool and Ipswich Town respectively.
And the pair would’ve been impressed by what they saw on Saturday, with the Rams claiming an emphatic 3-0 win against Bristol City.
Despite a poor midweek performance vs Barrow in the Carabao Cup, the Rams got themselves in front by the break, with Kenzo Goudmijn scoring his first for the cub.
Kayden Jackson then scored his fourth of the season, and David Ozoh then scored his first for the Rams.

Jacob Widell Zetterstrom shines for Derby County vs Bristol City
Derby County fans got another glimpse of goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom against Bristol City.
The 26-year-old made his home debut vs Bristol City following his summer move from Djurgarden in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
And on his home debut, Zetterstrom shone, making five saves and even completing a tackle on the day.
The Swede also proved tidy in possession recording 25 touches of the ball and completing eight out of 14 attempted passes.
Derby County fans on social media hailed the goalkeeper, calling him ‘outstanding’ and ‘brilliant’ among other superlatives.

Derby County are flying high right now, but the slog awaits
Two wins from the opening four Championship games is a good return for Derby, and it alleviates a lot of worries and fears about how the Rams would perform this season.
Zetterstrom has settled in nicely and Jackson is proving to be very prolific.
There’s also the likes of Phillips and Harness to enter the fold as well, so things are certainly looking up for Warne’s Derby County right now.
But the slog awaits. The Championship campaign is a long and daunting one and with the summer window now over, Warne has to make do with what he’s got until January.
But the performance of Zetterstrom is not only a positive for obvious reasons, but it also shows that Derby can find and poach good players from overseas.
It certainly bodes well for the Derby County recruitment model going forward.
